Oriental health concepts are built on a foundation of more than 2,500 years of Chinese medical practice. In China, it has long been the standard in their healthcare system. Recently, it has influenced modern Western medicine, and is becoming increasingly popular and recognized worldwide. While many of the concepts remain understudied, many herbal medicine, vitamin and supplements are backed by modern science. Adding a modern twist to understand oriental health concepts with scientific research and clinical trials, gives us the advantage to use knowledge of ancient wisdom and blend it with our daily health and diet routines in a modern & safe way.
Essential and non essential nutrients make up all of the vitamins, acids, fats, and minerals that a living body needs to be healthy. Essential nutrients are any nutrients that the body cannot make by it’s self, or at least not as much as we need. Non essential nutrients are nutrients that are made naturally in the body. They can also be absorbed through certain foods. The way we create or obtain the correct amount of each is very different, as well as which particular nutrients fit into which category.
Iron deficiency is one of the most common nutrient deficiencies in the world, affecting more than 25% of people worldwide. According to the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, "Nutritional needs should be met primarily from foods. Individuals should aim to meet their nutritional needs through healthy eating patterns that include nutrient-dense foods. But, for varying reasons, some people cannot reach the recommended nutrient amounts without using supplements or vitamins. Regular checkups will help you determine if you have any nutrient deficiencies.
